Estimates of channel revenue, especially in today's volatile times, can pose considerable financial and audit risk to your company. Whether you recognize revenue on a sell-through or sell-in basis, you are dependent on data that is self-reported on an "honor-system" by distributors and retailers worldwide - and its quality is notoriously poor. This causes many technology companies to be concerned about the accuracy of their financial reports.
Mr. Eric Cline, Director - World Wide Revenue, Financial Planning & Analysis, Symantec Corporation, and Ms. Jana Arbanas and Mr. Kevin Fried, Principal, Deloitte & Touche, LLP, share their experiences in the following areas:
- Financial exposure and compliance risks of poor channel data
- Understanding the impact of channel data on revenue recognition
- Best practices involving partner data for financial reporting accuracy and ensuring partner compliance
